The Oppenheim Group putting the 'O' in OMG.

Wow, what a wild Season. Now if you haven’t seen Selling Sunset the nutshell description is beautiful agents selling beautiful Real Estate, but with lavish lifestyles comes total soul-fueling drama. This season was nothing short of entertaining and the cast always delivers when it comes to the pipin’ hot tea at The Oppenheim Group office.
This Season followed our fan-favourite (and not so-favourite) cast members as they continued to sell elite Real Estate in the luxurious suburbs surrounding Sunset Boulevard, California. From the moment Netflix released the Season 5 trailer it was evident that it was going to be a wild ride. From Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim revealing their romantic relationship, the continuation of all the drama surrounding Christine Quinn, and new British bombshell broker Chelsea Lazkani joining the team, Season 5 definitely met up to its expectations. Check out the trailer for a mental refresher.
Let's start with Jason and Chrishell's relationship. I don't think anyone was expecting this, but this couple really made sense. I could imagine it would be difficult to date your boss because of the implications around it, which Christine made evident by claiming Chrishell was "getting listings because she is fucking the boss", ouch. I think it was ultimately pretty heartbreaking when the power couple called it quits due to Jason's stance on becoming a father and starting a family. The emotional reunion saw many tears from both Jason and Chrishell proving that this breakup wasn't easy for both parties. "There is a lot of sadness and loss... I am still going through things" Jason Oppenheim says. It is honestly such a shame that he didn't take the leap with Chrishell because you can see how much they mean to each other. She will truly be the one who got away and I think he is well aware.
Speaking of being the one who got away, Chrishell revealed that she has been dating G Flip?! I know I said I loved Chrishell with Jason but you can really see a chemistry between her and the Aussie singer. During the reunion when Chrishell showed a sneak peek of G Flip's new music video which she stars in, Jason was (metaphorically) punching the air so hard. Jason commented, "They look like a badass... I'm proud of you." I could imagine how nervous Chrishell was about coming out with her relationship, but the support of her co-workers and her ex-partner must have put her at ease as she said “I’m so happy and if that angers someone, that’s not my problem." Preach it!

Hurricane Christine ripped through this season just as we had expected, motherhood definitely didn't "soften" her like co-star Heather Rae El Moussa had hoped! Apart from the usual back and forth between her and her colleagues, I think everyone was surprised to see how far Christine took things when the word of a $5000 bribe to one of Emma Hernan's clients came to light. Christine claims that "once again Emma is trying to make me look bad and stir the pot and make up lies about me", however, Jason reveals that there is no debate whether or not she did it and "right now, there isn't a place for [Christine] at The Oppenheim Group". My gut is telling me that this won't be the last we see of Christine Quinn on Selling Sunset, however, she says the only reason she doesn't have a spot in the office is because she had "terminated" her contract. I guess Season 6 will answer all our questions.
I am proud of boss babe Mary Fitzgerald for putting her foot down this Season. Taking on a new managerial position is a big step up, especially when you're friends with all your co-workers... well not all of them. Mary's lunch with Christine was soooo perfect. When Christine said "I have never once instigated a situation" and to watch Mary's mouth drop to the floor was exactly the reaction I had. Then when Mary uttered the words "As your boss, I am telling you, cut the shit." If that were me and my boss told me off like that I would CRY!

This Season we saw a new face, Chelsea Lazkani join The Oppenheim Group and she definitely threw a spanner into the works. I love it when people are sure of themselves which Chelsea definitely is. In the Real Estate game, you have to be self-assured or you'll be stuck with an unsold $75 million listing under your belt (looking at you, Davina). Now I had my doubts about Chelsea because she is so close with Christine, but I definitely appreciated her ability to form her own opinions about the rest of the girls in the office despite Christine's opinions. I wonder if she will ever give Christine the "block, delete, done" or if Black and Blonde Barbie's friendship will stay the course. Only time will tell.

Now despite this Season having some continuity and wardrobe errors that should've been fixed in post (C'mon Netflix), it was ultimately filled with the pipin' hot tea that all Selling Sunset fans needed. I even found myself talking out loud to the TV like they could hear me, that's when you know you're sucked into the drama. I am thoroughly looking forward to Season 6 because after this you just know the office dynamic is going to be completely out of whack. Will Chrishell continue to work with Jason? Will Christine make a comeback? Will Davina's and Vanessa's jobs be on the line over their lack of listings? I will be counting down the days for this next instalment.
